Kiran Desai

Born in New Delhi, 36-year-old Kiran Desai is the youngest recipient of the prestigious Man Booker Prize for her novel THE INHERITANCE OF LOSS (in 2006). Until the age of 14 she lived in India and then briefly moved on to England with her mother (author Anita Desai), before settling in America for her higher education. Kiran's beauty is more traditional Indian, and soulful, than the Bollywood actresses whose photos grace Indian websites and blogs.
